Montague volleyball edges Whitehall, both teams play well at Big Rapids Quad

Montague got the best of Whitehall in a hard-fought three-game match Thursday at the Big Rapids Quad, 25-21, 13-25, 15-8.
The contest between the two teams was an appetizer to their scheduled conference matchup next Tuesday, Sept. 24.
The area rivals each defeated both Big Rapids and Lake City in two games to conclude the quad meet.
Montague (10-6-2) racked up impressive statistics defensively on the night, led by 44 digs from Jordan Netcott and 27 from Maizie Collins. The duo were also leaders in service points, with Netcott compiling 29 (including eight aces) and Collins adding 27.
Collins also led Montague's attackers with 19 kills. Emmalee McGee chipped in 16. Reagan Cederquist had four blocks, and Jaelyn Sundberg had 32 assists.
For Whitehall (8-8), Aaliyah Jamison posted 30 digs and Bella Fogus had 23. Fogus led the Viking offense with 23 kills. Sidney Shepherd had 17 kills and a team-best 25 assists, and Delaney Kramer had five blocks.
