It was again close Wednesday, but Reeths-Puffer finished fifth of
the five competing teams at the Mona Shores jamboree, scoring just 16
strokes behind the first-place Sailors.
“Mona Shores is looking like the team to beat in the league," R-P coach Matt Pallett said. "The other
four teams are very comparable. Unfortunately, we have earned last-place
finishes in the first two matches. We are close though, as we were only
10 shots and 5 shots out of second in those two matches. We will work hard
to turn that around.”
It was Jamie Neel's day to lead the
Rockets, as he shot a 40 to finish ninth overall. Neel never did worse
than a bogey in his nine holes.
"This was his best night as a
varsity golfer," Pallett said. "He has worked extremely hard to put
himself in a position to help this team.”
Kristian Brown
and Ayden Hartzell each had 42s for R-P - Hartzell shot a birdie during
the round - and Aiden Waggoner and Kaeden Benner each shot a 44.
